CZ’s YZi Labs Invests in Digital Asset Alongside Wall Street Giants to Expand Canton Network
Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao's investment firm, YZi Labs, has joined a $135 million Series E funding round for Digital Asset, the developer behind institutional blockchain platform Canton Network. The round includes participation from financial heavyweights Goldman Sachs, Citadel Securities, and DTCC.
The investment marks a convergence of crypto-native capital and traditional finance, with Zhao describing the move as 'merging Wall Street and blockchain.' Canton Network aims to solve regulatory challenges for institutional adoption by offering a public LAYER 1 blockchain with configurable privacy features.
Digital Asset's platform focuses on tokenizing real-world assets for regulated financial institutions, addressing the critical need for compliance in blockchain operations. The funding will accelerate expansion of the network, which seeks to bridge the gap between transparent public ledgers and isolated private blockchains.
